The Loser is a laugh-packed, heartfelt comedy about a 30-year-old misfit determined to prove he isn’t a loser- even if it means losing the best part of himself.
Imagine Napoleon Dynamite, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, and the weirdest family fun center you visited as a kid all packed into one very odd little town called Yorkleigh.
We really miss laughing at movies. And we miss comedies the whole family can actually watch together. So, we’re decided to make one.
And instead of waiting until the movie is finished to show it to you, we’re inviting you behind the scenes while it’s still being made. You’ll meet the characters, see pieces of the world come to life, weigh in along the way, and get a peek at a part of filmmaking Hollywood usually keeps behind closed doors.
You’re not just following The Loser. You’re part of building it.
Happenings
⛳ Location Scouting!
At the center of The Loser is Cheez-E-Chuck’s, a run-down mini golf hangout that serves as the heart of Daniel and his friends’ little world. We’ve started scouting a few spots that capture different pieces of the Cheez-E-Chuck’s magic.
📓 Back to School
Caroline started both a Producing and Directing class this semester, which means The Loser now gets to double as homework. Convenient!
🎥 Film Lab 714
Caroline attended the inaugural Film Lab 714, a new Orange County filmmaking workshop and 48-hour film festival focused on building up the local filmmaking community. Along the way, she met a musician who once toured with Tiny Tim…which somehow led to a potentially very weird connection for The Loser.
🎤 Meanwhile, Nathan got a microphone…
Nathan started working as a tour guide with our friends at Graveline Tours, combining two things he does very well: performing for people and talking about weird stuff. If you’re in the LA area, we highly recommend taking a ride with Graveline Tours…it’s a killer way to see Hollywood.

🎭 Mr. Fezziwig’s First Field Trip
We’re hoping to have Mr. Fezziwig (Daniel’s trusty puppet companion) finished in time for Bob Baker Day on September 20, which would make it his first official public outing.
✏️ Producing + Packaging
September will be focused on building an irresistible package for The Loser, nailing down some key logistics, and preparing for some exciting conversations ahead.
🌈 The Loser Club Is Expanding
We’re starting to dream up some in-person, community-driven ways to step into the world of The Loser over the next few months- chances to hang out, get involved, and experience a little of Yorkleigh before it ever hits a screen.
